You fly into Cape Town international airport and then either drive towards Franschhoek or we arrange an airport pick-up for you. The drive to Franschhoek takes about an hour from Cape Town. Once in Franschhoek you drive along the main road towards the monument, take a right at the intersection and then follow the road for about 2 km, after which you will see our gate on your right-hand side.

How do I get to Sterrekopje?

What should I bring?

We have 11 beautifully designed rooms that will optimise your sleep. Some of our rooms have fireplaces, outdoor bathrooms or a pool. You can contact us for more information. Sterrekopje sits on 50 hectares surrounded by mountains, lakes and a wide variety of plants and flowers.

How many rooms are there and how big is the property?

You can choose between a 3, 5 or 7 night journey at Sterrekopje. The journey includes all food and drinks, except for exclusive wines. Our daily farm rituals such as yoga classes and garden walks are also included in the journey price. For more information, please contact us at welcome@sterrekopje.com

What is included?

We have traditional Dutch bicycles for you to use in and around Sterrekopje.

How do I get around Franschhoek without a car?

Sterrekopje serves alcohol. You are more than welcome to enjoy a glass of good wine, but we invite you to drink in a moderate and balanced way.

Does Sterrekopje serve alcohol?

No diets are obligated or imposed. We will serve seasonal, wholesome and fresh food from our gardens. Our cuisine is created with a plant based, vegetarian philosophy at heart, however fish and meat are available as a welcome accompaniment. 

 

No pesticides, chemicals or heavy machinery is used in our food philosophy.

Am I supposed to be on a strict diet whilst staying at Sterrekopje?

Due to the privacy of our in-house guests, Sterrekopje is exclusively open to them. As such, we are not open to external guests and walk ins.

Is Sterrekopje open to external guests and walk ins?

We do not rent out the premises for weddings.

Can we book Sterrekopje exclusively for a wedding?

Yes it is possible to buy-out Sterrekopje. For more information connect with us at welcome@sterrekopje.com

Can we do a Sterrekopje private buy-out?

A few times a year we host family retreats. During the rest of the year, Sterrekopje welcomes anyone from the age of 16. We love animals and have a farm filled with them, so we please like to ask you to leave your furry friends at home. For more information connect with us at welcome@sterrekopje.com

Do you allow children and animals?

Yes we do have WiFi, but we ask you to only use your phones and other devices in your room as to preserve the calm energy of Sterrekopje and to respect the privacy of all our guests.

Is there a good WiFi connection?

Sterrekopje loves all seasons and the Sterrekopje journeys are not strongly depended on the weather. Our summer months are from November until February. Autumn falls from March until May with crispy weather, a nice time for hiking. July and August are the coldest and most rainy months of the year. Sterrekopje is closed during these two months. We re-open in springtime in September.

Where do I apply to join the Sterrekopje Family?

All payments at Sterrekopje are via bank or credit card. During your stay at Sterrekopje all meals and drinks are included, except for our exclusive wines. We require a 25% deposit within 10 days to confirm your booking. Full payment is required 30 days before arrival date.

How does your payment policy work?

In case of cancellation we need to receive a written notice by email of cancellation from the booker.
Bookings cancelled or reduced in number are charged as indicated below:

The 25% deposit can not be refunded in case of cancellation.
30 days before arrival: 100% of total booking.
No refund will be given for no-show or days not used resulting from early check out.
